Krigshot is on the rise

It looks like Krigshot is on the rise again. In a couple of weeks we'll finish a 7" we recorded almost two years ago! Yes, November 15 2003 we were in the studio recording nine tracks in Soundlab. Since Mieszko by then had decided to leave the band we only recorded and mixed the music. This was Björn's (Disfear) first time with Krigshot in the studio pounding the bass.

The idea was to record the vocals once we found someone who could do it. As time dragged on we, or at least I, felt that the recording wasn't that good. It was kind of rushed and all of the songs weren't top notch, so I guess we more or less canned the recording for good.

A couple of weeks ago I got some late night text messages from Jallo talking about finishing the 7" after all. I gave it a listen and enjoyed most of the songs, but the sound was a bit dull and "un-Krigshotish", so I did some eq-tweaking and compressing to pull forth the classic Krigshot sound and I kind of succeded with that.

So in a couple of weeks the legendary Poffen from Totalitär will come to Örebro and record some vocals to these now eight tracks (we've decided to can a blistering Asta Kask-cover). This is very exciting!

And starting next week, me and Jallo will rehearse some new stuff with the intention of recording a new 7" as soon as possible to get it all going again. The half-recorded 7" will be released by Sweden's Communichaos Media hopefully before the end of the year.

I'll keep you posted about the Krigshot future!

Something about the Nasum/Napalm Death split

Category: 100% Nasum

Someone asked about the Nasum/Napalm Death split in the Q & A section the other day - will it come out or not?

Well, I haven't got any real news about this. As far as I know it will come out one day, but when and how I do not know. No one does, it's another planed release that's all.

Last time I spoke about it with Shane he said that he had gotten an OK from Earache to use their "Earache songs" on the split and I guess they have to get a few more OK's before they can get working on a possible tracklist.

I've spent some time today working with our part of the split. I did some adjustments to the edit I did a few months ago and also some EQ tweaking to improve the sound. It sounds pretty good right now and the edit has a good flow so overall it's possible finalized. I might tweak it some more when it's time to really finish it.

The editing I've done is to exclude some songs that didn't sound so good due to either sloppy playing or problems with the sound. I've also moved around some of the songs which was quite interesting. We used to combine our songs in "blocks" and there are some completely new blocks in this edit, which at least entertains me.

The tracklist is as follows:
1. Corrosion
2. Doombringer
3. Just Another Hog
4. Inhale/Exhale
5. Scoop
6. Bullshit
7. Relics
8. Löpandebandsprincipen
9. I Hate People
10. Masshypnosis
11. A Welcome Breeze Of Stinking Air
12. Fatal Search
13. This is...
14. The Masked Face
15. The Idiot Parade
16. Den Svarta Fanan

I think it's about 21-22 minutes of music in total. Now just hope that you will hear this soon...
