Live shit in the works

Category: 100% Nasum

Today I got a very appreciated package from Denmark with Nasum's three shows from Japan January 2004 on CD. Our Danish sound engineer Bo Lund has really taken his time sending me these CD's but, boy, was it worth the wait!

I remember quite clearly how we sat in a hotel corridor in Osaka listening to the show we did just hours before by passing around Bo's minidiscplayer and headphones and just DIED by the great quality of the sound! It was really releaseable (is that a word?).

I've just recently listened through that recording and it's without doubt the best live recording of Nasum that I have heard. It captures the massive sound we had live and the takes sound pretty OK as well.

I will soon pic out the best stuff, polish it a little bit and prepare it for release. The idea is to do a live split with Napalm Death (also recorded at the same tour), but I don't know when and how it's going to be released. I know Shane wants to release it on the FETO label. We'll see.

I will share a track or two in a couple of days so you can hear for yourself how great this MINIDISC RECORDING (!) actually sounds!

Edit: Check out the Audio/Video page for samples.

Still unbelievable

Six months since the death of Mieszko today. I still can't believe it. Who can? It's unreal and will be unreal for a long time.

The other day I unpacked Mieszko's guitar amp from the custom made case we bought for the European tour last year. Jon is going out on tour with Sayyadina and he has the exact same amp so he wanted to borrow the case.

It was kind of emotional to unpack the amp. I was flooded with memories of all the fucking times I've spent carrying that very heavy amp around. And the case was giving me a hard time releasing the amp. It was like some force was keeping it back.

So I was there in the rehearsal room and I was starring at my drums, which I still haven't played properly since, well, since we had our second last show ever in Uppsala. That's also unreal.

There's some invicible barrier that I have to cross to start playing again. It's damn hard.

And it is so damned hard to understand that Mieszko is gone forever. I can't get it into my head. I still dream about him every week.

Late night on eBay

Category: Ramblings & reviews

I am on eBay as many other nights. I am a sucker for DVD's on eBay. Sometimes I just type "DVD" in the search field just to see what's ending soon. You can actually do some bargain finds that way. I just bought one Robin Williams HBO special and the 3rd season of "Six Feet Under". Nice.

And - as always - I search for Nasum and Necrony stuff... Hehe! I can't help myself, I just like to see what's going on on eBay. I remember before I became a eBay junkie I was so surprised to see that "Nasum" was used as an extra word in the item titles and descriptions. I didn't understand that that was the way it worked.

Often I laugh at the Nasum items marked as "rare". The "Helvete" LP is not rare (to take an active example). I'll tell you what is rare:

Top 5 list of rare Nasum items

1. The red "Blind World" t-shirt. I think it's 5 made or something like that and I know who has at least 3 of them.
2. The black "Blind World" t-shirt. 50 or 60 made.
3. The "Blind World" 7" EP. Quite hard to find. There's one signed copy in France.
4. A hooded "European Sonic Tourment 2000" shirt. Only 6 made, one is lost.
5. A white girlie with an inverted Nasum logo. Only one made. Guess who owns it?
